The Staging Area - May 5th, 2008

If you took photos at the Zombie Walk, please e-mail them to voidpulp@yahoo.com. Include your name in the e-mail!

Jamie, the Zombie Walk Organizer, in all her zombie glory!

The missing eye really made this one of the best costumes...

Um...ahhh...shoot, the placement of blood here creeps even us out!

The guy in the middle-back of this photo was great at acting like a zombie.

Papa John's zombie. Don't forget to tip...

Chick zombies. Girls love zombies!

These were two of the best examples of "liquid latex" make up. Creepy as all hell...made you not want to get too close to these guys.

Mark as a zombie. He kept inhaling moss and getting the green shit in his eyes all day. But, if you aren't willing to suffer for your art...

The bloody handpring on this costume was brilliant...

Dustin was a security guard zombie. We could not find a single photo where Dustin wasn't smiling. :-)

Gleeful zombies?

Another shot of liquid latex make-up. Pretty convincing...

This girl had acting like a hungry zombie down...award winning acting.

As the crowds of zombies began to grow in the staging area, it got a little unsettling. Passer-bys did not know what to think.

Jennifer on the left, and that's Jamie's bloody back in the center.

Jennifer and Jamie...

Tie-Die zombie and Amber in a suit and tie...

Disco zombie! He came ready to hustle!

Shaun of the Dead. This was a clever idea...

This zombie nurse came all the way from St. Louis. No, really. All the way from St. Louis! That is "zombie-dedication!"

This zombie doctor is St. Louis zombie nurse's husband...

Jennifer...we think Jennifer had a classic zombie-movie look...

This is zombie robot's girl...all done up as a school-girl zombie. Robot zombie and this school-girl zombie came in from Lawrence, KS.

This zombie is from the movie The Grudge. And Darth Venomous was in the house!

We have no idea what this gentleman used for make up, but when he was acting like a zombie...he was scary as hell.

Mia of the Kansas City Horror Club and a ghoulish friend.

More friends from the Kansas City Horror Club...

Again, you can see how unsettling it became as the number of participants climbed. There was fake blood all over the parking lot!

These two are scary in a subtle way. Sometime subtle works.

O.K. This is not subtle...and its brilliant. A big freakin' screwdriver sticking out of his eye. That's just awesome...

This is the only lipless mouth we saw at the zombie walk. This turned out to be pretty effective as well...

The fresh splatter here works...

The Kansas City Horror Club was representing. This girl was completely committed, and one of the creepiest.

This make-up job was done last-minute with borrowed make-up and blood in the front seat of Mark's car.

Sarah's zombie nurse, once blood was applied. Somehow this is scary and sexy at the same time. Kudos to Sarah!

Jamie on the left, the zombie robot, and disco zombie...

There are some zombies that are just classics. School girl zombie is one of those classic archetypes...

An eyeless zombie jogger and zombie friend...

A lady pulled up and asked us for zombies to attack her! Everyone tried to fulfill her wishes.

Jennifer and Mark...right before the start of the Zombie Walk...

People were showing up at the last minute, making an accurate count of participants almost impossible. There were between 70 and 75 zombies.

Before we started off, everyone gathered for a huge group shot...

...and here it is. This is just some of the zombies that showed up. About 20 more showed up over the next 10 to 15 minutes.
