MARK STINSON'S CONCLUSIONS

Vaile Mansion is widely rumored to be one of the most haunted locations in the Kansas City area, and perhaps the midwest. Its beautiful gothic style and tragic past certainly fit the role of haunted house. When we began Ghost Vigil Investigations we knew that no one had been allowed to investigate Vaile Mansion for many years, and it was one of our primary goals to earn a chance at conducting an investigation there.

We took a small investigation group to Vaile Mansion, but despite its large size, I'm not sure we could have taken more investigators there.

The main section of the home is built around a central hall and spiralling stairway, which causes sound to travel very far within the home. You could easily overwhelm this location with too many investigators. Now let's get to the question at hand...is Vaile Mansion haunted.

A fair number of the volunteers that work at the Mansion have experienced nothing paranormal at the location. But there are several volunteers who have heard voices and experienced other paranormal activity. Matt, one of our Ghost Vigil Members, heard a soft voice and felt a touch on his hand on the third floor of the mansion. While this is purely anecdotal, it is still interesting.

I had a sense-of-presence behind me in the Vaile's Master Bedroom. This is simply an anecdotal indicator on its own, and cannot be considered to be evidence. But that anecdotal indicator is bolstered by the fact that Darin felt that same sense-of-presence at the same time that I did...and emenating from the same location. It is further bolstered by Jamie independently experiencing a sense-of-presence in this same location an hour later, without knowing anything of our earlier experiences there.

A couple of month later, I was speaking with Joyce Morgan a local psychic that works with another paranormal investigation group. When she asked me what we had found during our investigation at Vaile Mansion, I told her we had experienced a sense-of-presence in the Vailes' Master Bedroom. Without skipping a beat, Joyce said, "Yes...in the Northwest corner." When I asked Joyce how she knew that, she told me there was "a lot of energy there...and anyone spending a little bit of time in the room was likely to sense it."

So did we gather solid evidence that Vaile Mansion is haunted? No. But we did have anecdotal experieces that lead us to believe its possibly a paranormally active location.
