Click on any of the photos on this page to view a larger version of the photo. There were so many orbs (caused by lens refractions, dust particles, etc.) found in the photographs taken in the museum, that we do not mention them individually in this section of the investigation report. See the Unusual Photos section of the report for details on those photographs.

For additional photographs of the 3rd Floor of the Strawberry Hill Museum see our first investigation.

This closet on the 3rd floor has one of the building's most dramatic paranormal stories connected to it. A female caterer was reportedly confronted and chased by a full-body apparition of a man. For full details on this story, see the Background section of our original investigation report. We spent a large amount of time on this floor...and in this closet. See the Unexplained voices section for more details.

At this time these two connected areas are empty and bare. But during the early days of the orphanage, prior to the building addtions, the nuns of the orphanage crowded into this space as their dormitory.
Reportedly, they even crowded beds into the tower area. At the center of the room, a set of formal stairs ascend from the 2nd floor. Due to the small size of the attic closet, when we were conducting vigils in the closet some members of the group had to be in this empty room. See the Unexplained Voices section of this investigation report.

Having a ballroom on the 3rd floor of a large house was quite in vogue at the time the family residence was built. When the building was an orphanage, the ballroom was turned into a large classroom.
It has seen very few changes since then, and still has a chalkboard on the wall. The eastward view through the ballroom windows overlooks the river, Kansas City's West Bottoms, and the western view of the tall bluff upon with Downtown Kansas City sits.

This rear hallway was more of a service hallway, leading from the servant's quarters stairway to the more formal areas and the ballroom on the 3rd floor. The ceiling is very low while the walls are slanted with the slant and angle of the roof. The top left photo is of a small bathroom off of this hallway. This last picture on the left was taken into the hallway at a time that I was feeling uneasy on the stairs.

We didn't spend much time in this room. Two of us went in briefly, and quickly decided to leave. During both investigations we discussed the fact that this room has an uneasy feeling about it. The room is dark and unfinished, and has a very heavy atmosphere.
The room has no known history or reported phenomenon...and was not the focus of our investigative efforts.

We did not know about this attic space during the first investigation. This attic area is over the Nuns Hallway and is not connected to the attic of the main building. The only way to this attic space is by way of a thin cluttered stairway behind a doorway off of the Nuns Hallway. It was stifling hot here...and we did not spend a lot of time in this attic.

During a vigil in the Nuns Hallway, we heard sounds that were possibly footsteps above us in this attic. See the Strange Events section of this investigation report for details.

The building, with its 42 rooms, was just too large to full investigate during the four hour investigation. But we spent a lot of time on this level, and have pictures of every room.
